Hot Pockets, and Fat Pockets!

Here is a picture of the "Hot Pocket" I made for St. Patrick's Day... I didn't want traditional corned beef & cabbage, so after I made the corned beef, I chopped it up and sealed it inside puff pastry with a little bit of mozzarella and provolone cheese, then baked it. It was good, but I'm not a huge fan of corned beef, so I want to try this with some other "hot pocket" style fillings. I had some boiled cabbage, onions and potatoes on the side.

So, a lot of times during the winter, I put on weight, and then take it back off again in the summer. This winter was no different... I went from 132 to 144! I don't diet, because no way I can keep up with it... It only makes me hungry, and then I purge and stuff myself with every bad thing imaginable. So for awhile, I tried to keep track of what calories I was eating... and honestly, I eat TOO many calories! I am fairly healthy with the way I eat, I just consume more than I need... Mostly out of the boredom of being stuck in the house all winter. So, I came up with the idea to keep track of what I'm eating and how often I'm working out for awhile and see where I am going wrong. I'm thinking too, if I keep written record, then I might hold myself more accountable every time I want to eat that piece of cake when I'm not even hungry. Also, not eating so much will make my grocery bill more affordable. I'm not going to follow any specific diet protocol or calorie restriction... This is just a way to keep track of my normal eating activities... though I'm sure that knowing I have to post it might stop me from eating that extra bit that I don't need. Anyway, the blog is here if anyone else out there is trying to lose some weight and knows what I'm going through :)

Sam as you - I pile on the pounds in winter and shed a bit in summer. I've been trying to eat less this winter (at least during the week. weekends are a different matter!) since exercising regularly does not happen with me. The hot pockets sound delicious!

I know what you mean.. i'm like that.. even if i eat the right kind of food i eat too much of it and that backfires. Portion control is something I've been working on. The writing down is sure to help. all the best. It's hard to diet when food blogging though.. too much temptation everywhere :)
