Sri's Sambhar & Taro Root

This is cute, he's cooking and taking pictures again! My bf made some sambhar and taro root the other night for dinner and called me to tell me he took pictures... So the next day he sent them to me, along with the recipes. His mom told him how to make the sambhar, which he says is the best! Here are the recipes, in his own words...

For sambhar:

1. Fry 2 tablesppon jeera, 5 spoon of coriander seeds, abt 4 tblspoon toor day, 3 sppons cocunut, 5-6 red chillis, 2 cut tomatoes
2. Blend them into a paste
3. Boil 1/2 cup of toor dal with 1 tspoon of tumeirc
4. cut 1 onion, may be 1 green peppers, maybe add some frozen mixed vegetables..sautee it in little bit of oil
5. To this add the boiled dal, grinded paste and 1 spoon of tamarind paste
6. Add water and salt for taste and boil it

For taro root:

1. Boil the taro (frozen or fresh)..the fresh will hv peels that can be peeled off after u boil in pressure cooker
2. Then fry one cut onion in oil
3. While frying add mustard, salt, red chilli powder and tumeric according to your taste
4. When the onions are fried, add the boiled taro root and fry them..Keep mixing it regularly so that they are mixed evenly
