Carrot Halwa

YES! I DID IT! Finally, I made some halwa that wasn't rock hard or dried out. This batch turned out so perfect, and it was the first dessert I made in my new apartment. I got the recipe from Betty Crocker's Indian Home Cooking, which is one of the few cookbooks I have loved every recipe from. I was really glad too that there weren't any shortcuts to making this, I had to condense a half-gallon of milk down slowly and try not to scald it, and I was sure this first batch would never succeed, but it did! It was so worth it to painfully watch the milk for hours because the end result was so delicious! I enjoyed a bowl warm and then let the rest get cold, and it was perfect both ways!

Hi,
Just came across your blog. And the halwa looks nice. If you make a little extra, you can freeze this and then warm it up just before serving.

~ Aparna, Thanks for visiting :) I could have froze some too, there was so much! Thanks for the tip!
